I know that these kind of posts are all mushy and you want to read them but also want to throw up at the same time. I get it. And I don't mean to brag, but my hubby is pretty fantastic. Case and point:
1. He sat down and took a practice proctored LSAT a couple of Saturdays ago. Just took it without any studying or familiarization with the format. And he did extremely well. Which means with studying and test prep, a top Law School (which he is striving for) could be a reality. I am so proud of him.
2. At the training sessions he is going to for his new job, one of the things they did was trivia questions during breaks. And if anyone knows Alex, you know that he is spectacular at retaining information and as such, rocks at trivia. He answered a lot of questions (and correctly for that matter) and ended up winning overall at the end of the week. I think my favorite one liner from him while relating to me of his success was "Take that Teen Jeopardy!" or something along that meaning (Alex was a candidate for Teen Jeopardy back in the day FYI). Anyways, my point is is that he is a smarty pants. And handsome. And has a great sense of humor. Triple whammy and 10 points for...Aggen.
3. Alex is so caring and always takes care of me especially when things are tough. Yesterday I was feeling absolutely horrible and to top it off our house had a mini flood when we were both on campus. I was crying and bemoaning my anguish over feeling like crap and having a house that smelled like it, when Alex gives me the best hug ever and runs off to the store to get me some gingerale. He then tells me to relax and that he will take care of things, and suggests that I could watch a movie. I agree and decide on "Annie". The best thing was that Alex watched most of it with me, holding my hand. He is such a sweetheart and I love him so much!
4. Alex had to commute again for training today, and at around 5pm tonight I got a call. Seeing as this was the ordinary time that Alex usually calls to tell me he is coming home I expected this to be a fairly ordinary call. Well, it turns out our car engine overheated and left him stranded. Luckily he was able to pull off the interstate before the car died completely. One tow truck ride later he was making his way home, about 4 hours later than when he would have regularly arrived home. Throughout this whole fiasco he has remained so calm (more for me than him I think) and is such a level-headed man. I love this about him. He helps me keep sane despite all the crazy things that go on in life.
Can you see why I think he is so incredible? And, this is only the tip of the iceberg (I know, bad cliche-yet very relevant). I feel so blessed to have him, and ecstatic that I get to build and share a life with him.
