Snow Fun

Sometimes you've got to make the best of a snowy Michigan winter and bring in a bucket of snow and let your kid play in it, scoop it, and in Addie's case, try a taste too.

Addie's First Haircut

Addie finally grew enough hair for us to give her her first haircut! I was nervous to do it since she is such a squirmy child and the last thing I wanted to do was take a big chunk of hair off, but she thought it was hilarious and sat sit for me the entire time. It also helped that we set up the kindle and put on an episode of 'Handy Manny' to distract. I think it turned out pretty cute in the back, and it was bittersweet to realize that she's getting older.

18 Months

Happy 18 months to this little lady! Addie at this age is adventurous, loves climbing things, is an excellent helper and sharer, says a handful of words but not always consistently, can point out parts of her body, prefers stickers over coloring, walks on her tippy toes, loves to pantomine what we do, drives me crazy with her pickiness at mealtimes, and melts my heart at bedtime when she rests her head on my shoulder and snuggles. We sure do love this girl!

Kerr Wedding 2014

My sister got married! Her and her awesome husband, Nick, were married in the Las Vegas LDS Temple on December 27, 2014. It was a beautiful day and I am so glad that we got to be there to celebrate with them. Addie was an adorable flower girl and Lindsay was the prettiest bride. Congrats Nick and Linds - you guys are so great together!

Las Vegas Christmas

We spent Christmas 2014 in Las Vegas. My sister Lindsay was getting married two days after Christmas so we got to spend it with my family. Addie got up much too early on Christmas due to the 3 hour time difference, and I think she had no idea what was going on at first. Eventually she realized that all these presents were for her and that she could open them and then she got really excited. By the end though, she was really tired and ready for a nap. We had a pretty low-key rest of the day just enjoying the time together.

No Words Necessary

Sometimes Addie wants to wear things like Dad's gym shorts and Mom's winter boots, and as her parents we feel obligated to respond to her request and begrudgingly take pictures because in no way are these hilarious (insert sarcasm here). But really, this was her idea (mostly).

U of M Museum of Natural History

For one of our playgroup outings we went to the Museum of Natural History on the University of Michigan's campus. Addie ran around the entire time (as evidenced by the blurriness of these pictures), and it had some pretty neat stuff to look at. It isn't very big, but it had quite a few interesting displays like taxidermied animals and full-sized skeletons of mastodons. If parking wasn't so hard to find I would probably take Addie here every couple weeks or so!

Run, run, run. This girl wears me out sometimes with her busy-ness.

Sometimes you just got to let your kid eat the displays. Germs-smerms.

Turkey Trot 5K

I ran another 5K in November, and this one was much different than the one I ran in July. For starters, it was colder. Like running in freezing rain colder. It was also running on paved paths instead of the street, which wasn't too different. I definitely enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Hudson Mills Metropark. I also didn't train as much for this race, and focused more on keeping up my pace. About a week before the race I got a bad cold, so that also cut into training and I was glad I was in much better health on race day. I met my goal that I had to get a time below 30 minutes - I ended up clocking in at 28:15 (9:06 min/mile)! I was really proud of myself for accomplishing my goal.

Fall Walk

I went on a fall walk with a friend and she captured some of these sweet shots of Addie that I just had to share! Love this smiley girl of mine.
